On April 1996, AMETHYST, the business was born in a deserted shopping alley, specifically on Kalogera Street in Mykonos town. The idea of its name was inspired on February, the month of the Amethyst!
The owner of the business Apostolos, was born in Australia to Greek parents. From a young age he was a restless spirit with pioneering ideas, a workaholic and talented. At the same time, he had a great passion for creating handmade objects.
Returning back to his homeland Greece at the age of 12, he settled in Mykonos since his first visit to the island became a milestone for his subsequent life career.
After 12 years of experience in tourism and jewellery on the island of the winds, he noticed that unique and rare jewellery was absent from the island.
AMETHYST has been operating for all these years, and is well known as a concept Jewelry Experience Store that provides exceptional jewelry handmade by the owner Apostolos as well as selective jewelry mainly from Greek designers. This includes a variety of gold, silver jewelry with precious and semi-precious gems, single gems like diamonds, sapphires, rubies, aquamarines, tourmalines, amethyst etc. It's worth mentioning that throughout the years Apostolos has created special jewelry designs for his customers (some VIP and very famous) from around the world upon their request.
This philosophy continues to this day, always providing excellent quality and impeccable service including after sales service.
Alongside the jewelry, Apostolos has invested a lot of time and energy in sourcing high-grade Minerals and Crystals from all over the world. At the store, one can discover Greek Aragonite, Prasem [Serifos Greek Quartz - unique in the world], Malachite, Fluoride, Quartz etc.
The knowledge he has gained due to personal interest has made him an expert in this particular field. Fossils are also a field of his expertise. He is fascinated by dinosaur eggs, teeth, trilobite and crinoid.
